Well quite a day.
We persevered and made it to Idaho Falls tonight. But SLC is not for the faint of heart on a good day. We met with snow, blowing snow and melting snow today with little visibility.
Gramps just kept trucking and Grams navigating and Lucia acting up with us as much as she possibly could.
We stopped lots of times to give ourselves and break and explore options but none felt right like keep on trucking did so we did.
We haven't driven in a condition like that since we went to Sask in January many moons ago.
But, in a positive light look who we get to see at the end of the road....
Both Bailey and Nina await. Not to mention James and Lauren and Andrea and Miles.
Everyone else is elsewhere.
Wish us luck we will aim for a lofty goal but may only make it to Butte and or Great Falls tomorrow.
We had hoped to be through the border before Good Friday but whatever.
Love to each of you precious ones,
Gramps and Grams

Well Gramps finally got me up and running again.
Rob if you're reading this please help Dad find the icon again; I messed up yesterday and now we can't get the icon up; Dad had to use gmail to get this up for a new blog.
Sunday after church with Carole and Jerry we went to the Good Egg for brunch and had a lovely visit. It was Palm Sunday so the whole Sunday School marched in with giant Palms waving not like the ones we ordered a year in advance and were dead. The music was spectacular again.
Then Auntie Betty and Uncle Robert met us at Olive Garden for a nice supper out. We ended up giving them our excess foods so we wouldn't be travelling with them.
Then yesterday we cleaned like crazy packed our car and then went to costco for a hot dog for supper.
This am Gramps got us up at 5:45 and we left N Scottsdale at 6am and drove the 101 right before the traffic started slowing. We got off the 101 onto the 17 freeway and sailed through to Kingman.
Gradually, all along the way the wind and blowing sand increased and we saw several transports and RV trailers struggling along and meandering in the wind.
We have never driven in wind like we did today the tumble weeds were having fun blowing all around but the wind was quite dangerous.
Gramps got us a hotel and we just finished doing laps in the pool together.
We wanted to make a very early start but James says the storm we've been watching all over western USA and Canada is not great at SLC so we'll see. The mountains now have snow all over the tops but the views along this area is breath taking to see.
Our buddies who were going to meet us in Mesquite NV this evening stalled at Henderson NV their fuel pump on their motor home will need to be ordered and then repairs done. So we have gone on and wished them luck they will need a hotel now too. We were going to stay at Mesquite like we said however the hotel Gramps booked was very grungy and he cancelled as soon as he checked it out. We are staying at the Fairfield in St. George Utah and did enjoy the pool just now a real treat exactly like the one in the plaza residences.
Davids' email sounds like they are having fun.
We are both very tired from our drive but grateful that the drive through Vegas though rough with heavy traffic was smooth.
We now a have a new family member. She is called Lucy if we're lucky and Lucia when she makes mistakes..... she has done pretty good so far. We got her in Costco and Gramps is doing great programing her and Grams is managing her while Gramps drives.
Lots of love to each of you precious ones,
Gramps and Grams

Well family we are stretching our last days here to the limit. Today we got up and went for a walk after breakfast and ended up at Safeway Mall along from the Kierland Mall. That had been our goal for me last year and this year. Today we made it. Our reward was a Starbucks Coffee. Not Timmy's but good just the same.
Then we got an email from Edna and John Whyte and they wanted to come over. John and Gramps went to Starfire to golf after 3pm.
Edna and Grams were content to chat and sew. Then toward late afternoon we went to the pool and swam laps for over half an hour.
Such a wonderful feat for activity this year.
Then we went out to the Sonora Mall along the 101 Freeway to snacks.
So a wonderful day. They Whytes' aren't leaving until after April 1st.
They are really good company and Gramps is actually looking forward to John golfing with him either at Lakewood and or Top of the Hill at home. Gramps has not been successful getting a good golfing buddy until now.
Auntie Betty and Uncle Robert are coming over to have supper with us tomorrow.
We are going to church in the morning with the Frederick's.
Congratulations are in order for Samuel James and his hockey team WINNING PROVINCIAL Hockey in Edmonton today!
Hopefully they all have a safe trip to Tampa Bay at 3am this morning. Solie and Abie are with Auntie Lauren and Uncle James. Hope all goes well there. Benny is at his buddy Sabastien's.
Thanks Aidan Robert for sending us such nice notes.
Gramps was so happy to talk with son Don on Skype this am. Our birthdays are not far off.
Lots of love to each of you precious ones.
